Bas and Lokes Leather Watch Strap Review

When you think about, the watch strap is just as important as the watch itself.  It can also make or break a watch too, having to be the right color, and it must be comfotable too.  Bas & Lokes out of Sydney, Australia hand produces all sorts of leather straps that are custom made to your specific size prefence.  There are a lot of strap makers around but Bas & Lokes sticks to a set of features and quality that are like none other.

There are three straps that we are going to take a look at.  Bas & Lokes names each one of their strap and we are looking at:

Clive - A stiff brown leather with a traditional stitching pattern.

Kenzo - A smoth and stiff brown leather with a small amount of stitching near the lugs.

Gotham - An all black full grain leather that is very soft.

There is a character to each style with the leather that they choose, the color and even the stitching.  These styles really create a feel and theme to each strap that you can match to the type of watch that you plan on wearing it with or what style of clothing to match it too.  The branding and presentation throughout everything they do is also felt from when you order to when it shows up in your mailbox.  Black is seen in everything from their website to the envelope and packaging.

Each strap has features that are carried to each piece.  A single, wide keeper with X stich on the back is a great feature that is much better than having two flimsy keepers like seen on most straps. A Bas & Lokes brand is stamped into the back of each strap.  To make strap changes easier and lighter on the lugs each spring bar hole is tear drop shaped to allow for a tool to get inide the strap. Lastly, the holes for each strap which are custom ordered per customer specifications for size and amount, are large and round which prevents them from stretching and deforming.

I really, really like what Bas & Lokes offers.  They are truely a custom strap maker that has their own style that is infused into each piece they make.  Having the ability to order each one exactly to the width, length and style makes it a special strap that you choose rather than just looking through a catalog and settling.  You even get to choose what buckle you would like.  Check out what they have to offer on their website and make sure to take a look at their new wallets.

Thanks to Bas & Lokes for supplying the review straps.

These are certainly beautiful looking straps. I have found another company that I will be using to produce starps for my watch brand in the future.

I like the idea of keeping the work here in the USA, while still getting excellent product (and custom)

After I finish our ORCA Dive watch, I will use them for my Aviator project
