Jorg Gray JG8100-13 Chronograph Initial Review

We have tried a few watches from Jorg Gray in the past, but none quite as well polished as the JG8100.  This watch is a new design style from Jorg Gray relying on hard design rather than bold printing to get it’s point across.  Finished with a rock solid Swiss ISA Quartz movement, this piece is going to be interesting to give a try.

Dial & Case
The case on this piece is really the center of the entire design, a circular shape with touches of dive and aviator.  From the lug bars to the logo engraved into the side, it sets the tone for the rest of the small features that this watch has throughout.  Measurement is on the medium side at a nicely sized 42mm.

Little bits of red can be seen on the dial and date window that are reinforced on the chrono buttons on the outer case.  The graduated buttons are solid with small red pushers that look very nice against the deep black coloring.

Multiple textures are used all over the dial.  It brings multiple styles of striping and dimension as well as looks at the chrono style in its own way.  At first look its actually not a standout feature that this is in fact a chronograph.  Jorg Gray has done a good job of not pointing straight to the usual large dials that are always a dead giveaway.

Band
The band is a Jorg Gray design from top to bottom.  Fully rubber the Jorg Gray logo and   name makes up the outside texture of the watch.  The dive part of the theme comes back into focus when looking at the band.

Finishing of the strap is a very thin, single fold deployment clasp.  Phantom engraved into the clasp is simply a large J and G.

Overall
This is a very handsome piece from Jorg Gray that shows their dynamics in their design.  The JG8100 line starts at $495USD and comes a vast array of seven different styles.   After two weeks of review we’ll be back with a final thoughts review.  In the meantime make sure to comment or post any questions you may have below.
